ATA releases safety policy statement
The ATA has released a new safety policy statement, which sets out the trucking industry’s position on the key safety issues affecting operators and drivers. The policy statement emphasises the importance of preventing fatigue, complying with the speed limit, and zero tolerance for driving under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs. Retail Logistics Supply Chain Code of Conduct The Retail Logistics Supply Chain Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that all participants are aware of their responsibilities in the supply chain when they control or influence the safe and legal carriage of freight. New industry advisory procedures available The Australian Trucking Association has released a Commercial Vehicle Wheel Security Advisory Procedure to encourage safer wheel fitting practices in the trucking industry. Produced by the ATA's Industry Advisory Council, the procedures manual is the latest in a collection that is designed to educate on best practice in the trucking industry.
